As the only skin-needling device listed on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) as a medical device, medical Dermaroller treatments are clinically proven to induce a collagen response.
Designed to stimulate collagen and reduce scarring, medical Dermaroller treatments must be performed by a qualified and trained Dermaroller clinician under strict sterile and hygienic conditions.
Working on the stratum corneum, or the natural protective layer of the skin, medical Dermaroller treatment creates micro-channels on the skins surface with very fine micron needles. The creation of these channels allows substances applied to the skin, to gain access to the deeper and more viable skin layers. We call this a ‘micro channel delivery system’.
Capable of enhancing the penetration of active skincare ingredients, you can achieve up to 200 times more product delivery following treatment – dramatically adding value and results to your skincare regime.
Used as part of a prescribed treatment plan, in conjunction with active ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamins, Minerals and Peptides, medical Dermaroller treatment can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve tone and reduce the appearance of disfiguring scars.
Medical Dermaroller Treatment Is Ideal For:
- Increasing epidermal thickness
- Reducing enlarged pores
- Re-vascularisation/skin stimulation
- Sebaceous-gland (oil flow) regulation
- Treatment/harmonising of pigmentation
- Maximising the transdermal delivery of active ingredients
- Improving the appearance of atrophic and acne scars
- Improving the skins texture
How does Medical Dermaroller treatment differ from other skin rejuvenation techniques?
Unlike ablative treatments such as lasers, medical Dermaroller treatment stimulates new tissue formation – acting constructively, whilst leaving the skin intact. Medical Dermaroller treatment does not damage the skin, and therefore does not invoke a wound healing response.
How is Medical Dermaroller treatment performed?
Medical Dermaroller treatment involves the use of a cylindrical shaped drum studded with very fine micro needles.
Following a thorough cleaning of the skin, the area to be treated is numbed to prevent pain and discomfort. The medical Dermaroller device is then rolled over the skin to breakdown old scar tissue and stimulate skin cells to proliferate.
How soon will I see results?
New skin cells are stimulated and blood flow is enhanced immediately following medical Dermaroller Treatment. Visible results are usually seen within six weeks of your first treatment, with continuing results over the following months providing a gradual and long lasting enhancement.
Can Medical Dermaroller treatment be used on any skin type?
As medical Dermaroller treatment does not use thermal heat, it is safe to use on all skin types and colour. There is no risk of post-inflammatory hyper pigmentation occurring from medical Dermaroller treatment.
