PEELS (also known as Chemabrasion)What are Peels?Peels are designed to treat aging and sun damaged skin, acne and acne scarring, stretch marks, lip and character lines, enlarged pores, rough texture, fine facial wrinkles, mild discolouration and coarse skin texture. It can also be used to improve scarring from previous surgery or trauma. What type of peels are available? TheRationale Rejuvenating Peel is designed to revitalise sun damaged skin. It is performed in the clinic every 3-4 weeks. The Rejuvenating Peel supports and augments the effects of the Rationale Rejuvenating Serum, Skin Refining Serum and MicroPeel. TheRationale Booster Peel 40% is a combination AHA and BHA formulation. It contains 25% AHA and 15% BHA. The Booster Peel promotes cleavage of corneocytes from the stratum corneum and stimulates epidermal differentiation. It can be used alone or to augment the strength and effects of other Rationale When the Booster Peel is performed on a monthly basis it promotes increased skin hydration, resulting in smoother, softer skin; assists in reducing blackheads and pimples; helps unclog and reduce visibility of pores; the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles; and aids lightening of epidermal hyperpigmentation. The Rationale Clarifying Peel is designed to assist in acne treatment. It is performed in the clinic every 3-4 weeks. The Clarifying Peel supports and augments the effects of the Rationale Clarifying Serum, Skin Refining Serum and MicroPeel. When the Clarifying Peel is performed on a regular basis clients experience a reduction in closed and open comedones, which leads to a decrease in papules, pustules and cysts. Clients also notice an improvement in their general skin tone and texture. The Rationale Lightening Peel is designed to treat epidermal hyperpigmentation. eg. melasma and superficial blotchy brown pigmentation. It is performed in the clinic every 3-4 weeks. The Lightening Peel supports and augments the effects of the Rationale Lightening Serum and Skin Refining Serum. When the Lightening Peel is performed monthly for 6 months, clients will experience a lightening of epidermal hyperpigmentation. However, before commencing treatment it is important that you are assessed and tther factors are taken into consideration, e.g. hormonal imbalances that can be the cause of melasma.
