Breast implant surgery (also known as augmentation, mammoplasty and breast augmentation)
Endless Solutions’ surgeon, Dr David Topchian, provides an in-depth, frank and personal consultation, so that you can discuss your particular breast augmentation needs and provides expert advice and recommendations tailored to your particular breast concern.
Breast Implants explained
Dr David Topchian has performed over 600 breast implant procedures using polyurethane foam covered silicone gel implants, also known as “super-furry” Brazilian implants, making him the second most experienced surgeon in Australia using these polyurethane coated breast implants in his breast augmentation procedures.
Why use “super-furry” Brazilian breast implants?
Everyone considering breast implant surgery soon discovers that the most common complication is capsular contracture of the breast implants. This is where the membrane, which grows around all implants and which normally you can’t see or feel behaves like “shrink wrap”, compressing the implant causing it to feel firm or hard, often distorting its shape. The polyurethane foam- coated "super furry" Brazilian implants have been proven to dramatically reduce this problem from about 1 in 6 patients developing capsular contraction, to about 1 in 100.
The Operation
Breast augmentation is usually performed under a general anaesthetic in a Day Surgery Centre. The woman can go home a couple of hours after the operation if she’s feeling alright, and after a period of observation.
What is the Rapid Recovery technique?
Ideally, your recovery after any surgical procedure should be as rapid and comfortable as possible. While all discomfort cannot be eliminated, it is now possible to experience minimal discomfort and a quick return to normal non-strenuous activities following breast augmentation. We have worked to perfect this technique, the Rapid Recovery technique for breast augmentation.
The Rapid Recovery technique has allowed many patients to return to normal non-strenuous activities within 24 hours and to significantly reduce, and in some cases totally eliminate, the need for strong pain medication.
What’s different about the Rapid Recovery technique?
In essence, it is a gentler approach to the breast augmentation process.
During the procedure, the operation is performed in a very precise manner to minimize injury to the breast tissue. Traditionally, much of the work within the breast is done bluntly, causing trauma, bleeding and postoperative pain. By being more precise and gentle, the body experiences less inflammation and postoperative discomfort.
The experience of our patients and their enthusiastic comments have been very gratifying. Many patients have returned to non-strenuous activities within 24 hours following the procedure. You may have waited a long time to have breast augmentation, but with the Rapid Recovery technique, you shouldn’t have to wait a long time to enjoy the benefits.
